Mauricio Pochettino needs the services of Philippe Coutinho. Though they don't want to buy him but only working to secure a loan from Barcelona.

North London club Tottenham have reportedly made a bid to sign Philippe Coutinho on loan from Barcelona, with the Catalan club likely to charge about £21 million to complete the deal.

Mauricio Pochettino has worked with Coutinho briefly at Espanyol which could prove to be the clincher for Spurs.

The Catalan club paid up to £142 million for the services of the Brazilian from Liverpool in January 2018.

Though the La Liga champions are looking to offload their expensive recruit permanently, they are willing to let him leave on loan for a fee in excess of £21 million.

He earns more than £200,000 a week, which would make him the top earner at Tottenham if he were to join.
